Singlehanded
Race Team
Singlehanded Race Team is an advanced course designed for those sailors who aged out of the Optimists and want to continue sailing bigger boats. For the summer of 2025, GLSS is purchasing Nikki and Skeeta foiling dinghies to add more variety to the program. Based on the wind conditions, the coaches will choose whether the sailors will use their Melges 14/ Lasers or the GLSS foilers. The program will also use wing surfers to add more options.

The boats used in the class use different rigs to accommodate sailors from 100-200 pounds. This makes the transition from the Optimist class seamless and provides everybody with the right size sail to handle all weather conditions.

The admission to this class requires the approval from the sailing director, participants must provide their own M14 or Laser, you can charter one from the GLSS based on availability.

Practices run Monday - Friday 9am -12pm.
Racing season starts on June 9 and runs through July 25
